Abstract
Collaborative research between the Université de Sherbrooke and Arjo has led to the development of a new intelligent motorized assistive system. The system features a motorized wheel that provides proactive power assistance to caregivers when moving patients. By sensing user intent, the lift significantly reduces the physical effort and the risk of back injuries. This technology is now integrated into Arjo's Maxi Move 5 commercial product.
